Tesamorelin is a stabilized synthetic analog of human growth-hormone-releasing hormone, GHRH(1-44), carrying an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl modification that resists enzymatic degradation. It acts on pituitary GHRH receptors to stimulate the body's own pulsatile release of growth hormone and, in turn, IGF-1. It is FDA-approved under the trade name Egrifta for the reduction of excess visceral abdominal fat in HIV-associated lipodystrophy, and is widely studied in body-composition, visceral-adiposity and hepatic-fat research. aminobay supplies it lyophilized for laboratory research applications only.
